FAQ

How do I know if a Bladder Control Pad is the right choice for me?
A good general rule is that if you are only emptying a portion of your bladder outside of the bathroom, this is probably the right choice for you.
How do I pick what size Bladder Control Pad is right for me?
This all depends on how much fluid is escaping before you can get to the bathroom. For a light gush or dribble, a smaller pad should be sufficient. If a larger amount of fluid is escaping, choose a larger pad.
What do I do if my Bladder Control Pad is leaking?
The first thing to try would be to switch to a larger Bladder Control Pad. If you are not consistently seeing success with a larger pad, switch to the Pull Up.
Do Men and Women need different types of Bladder Control Pads?
Yes. Because the male and female anatomy differ, the pad design by gender differs. Men will have greater success with a Male Guard. Most of the Bladder Control Pads feature packaging that makes the appropriate gender easy to see.
How do I know if a "Flow-Thru" or Booster Pad is the right choice for me?
The "Flow-Thru" or Booster Pad (that does not have a moisture-proof backing) is only appropriate if you will be placing it in a Tabbed Brief or Pull Up. You would not choose this product to place in your own (washable) underwear.

Support and Comfort

These work very well, the absorbency holds a lot. Very soft, the length is perfect! They save $ from having to use lots of depends. There always going to be some kind of leaks during the night, due to the uncontrollable bladder for my 90+ senior dad. I recommend these!

Great overnight protection.

Very absorbent, however, very bulky and wide.

Helpful added protection

These are excellent. To wear with an adult diaper overnight is what I purchased for. When you need that added boost if you are a heavy wetter this is what you need! Still problematic if a side sleeper but it still absorbs most of the fluid. Smaller leakage. I keep a chuck under me anyway and most nights no leakage. Works for me.

Excellent product for loved ones that have incontinence issues

Excellent for people with incontinence issues. The back part of the pad is a good width to capture urine. My mother lives in assisted living facility, they recommended the product for her to use.

Excellent

I first began using these pads at home, as the briefs supplied by Medicaid are pretty useless. I did not use the Tena panties to hold them up, I just used my regular Fruit of the Loom panties.I am currently in a rehab facility, and temporarily unable to walk. The "briefs" (diapers) the facility provides are awful - barely absorbent, leaky. I use these inside the briefs and they're fantastic. I get a diuretic in the morning; these pads handle close to the 6 hours the diuretic lasts. I don't urinate in my sleep, only after I wake up. The pad handles 8 hours overnight, and sometimes longer. I get changed around 9 pm and not again until 5 am, and I often haven't urinated at all,so my aide just wraps me back up and I continue to use the pad until mid-morning when the diuretic kicks in.I frequently go 8-10 hours between changes. Other residents, with just the cheap "briefs" without a pad insert need changing every couple of hours. These pads allow me to live my life with minimal disruption for brief changes.

Best incontinent product I got for my invalid husband. I used them in his bed and even inside his "pull ups"Worth the money.

Sleeping

This is an uncomfortable conversation, but there are far too many of us out there not to have it. My issue comes at night while I'm sleeping. My once 'as watertight as a ducks butt' is gone (sadly) and I'm having to adjust rapidly to the new 'hot shuffle' while awake and 'should I just be sleeping in the bathtub' issues at night. As I'm big on comfort, the tub is out, and pads are in. I'm diabetic so I drink a lot of water which means precautions need to be taken. These pads have pluses and minuses. They are great in holding a lot of 'water' and depending on your needs they might be enough for you. It's necessary for me to have pads on my bed too at protect my mattress. The one thing I'd change about these is I'd put adhesive at both ends to help keep them fixed in underwear. They're long which is perfect for sleeping but without adhesive I've had to jerry rig my own adhesive at both ends to make it work. I use panty liners to create tabs at both ends which works well for my needs but, it's a design flaw that really should be fixed so I don't have to do it in the first place. I'm not at the diapers stage yet and I like my underwear so here we are. Hey Tena, help me out will ya? Adhesive at both ends!!!

TERRIFIC PRODUCT. TEN STARS ????????????????????

For those in need with heavy incontinence, this product is a lifesaver. It can be used by both women and men for urinary and fecal incontinence. It really can keep you dry and prevent embarrassing leaks. There are three thicknesses. DAY REGULAR (Blue), DAY HEAVY (Yellow), and NIGHT ULTRA HEAVY (green) which are very thick. You will wake up without leaks. You can use the thickness of choice as your bodily needs determine and change on a daily basis. They have NO ADHESIVE STRIP> THEY MUST BE WORN INSIDE YOUR SNUG FITTING UNDERWEAR. These pads make for very easy changes. If extra absorption is needed when wearing the day regular which is not too thick, just insert a smaller pad inside with adhesive. NOTEthe thickness of these pads taper somewhat on the edges so they are not very visible when wearing the large pads. This is nothing like horrible diapers which are very noticeable. These are truly the most absorbent pads on the market and a Godsend for those in this level of need.

Fantastic pad for overnight protection. Best you can find.

This pad is the best Ive found for overnight protection, and will absorb multiple bladder releases. It is large, so be aware of that. We usually put it inside a regular pull up diaper to keep it close to the body, without using the adhesive. You could of course use the adhesives inside undies. The next best is to use smaller pads like Tena or poise over night extra wide or cvs ultimate extra wide works as well as the other two and costs less. However, for the best over night protection is this Tena pad hands down, can absorb the most fluid and keep you comfortable.

I Did the Research!!!

Tena has a great product, but their advertising sucks! This product, for instance, It's a Pad/Diaper. The earlier advertisements paired it with the pull-on pants that were made to accompany this product (I will try to insert pictures later). For the most part this is a 2-part system, it is not a diaper without the tabs, nor is it a pad like a sanitary napkin or pantyliner, but it is a unique incontinence pad, but you have to buy the pull-on pants to go with the pad.I have been wearing them since they came on the market and I lov'em! This is they only system that I don't have to worry about soiling my clothes, bed, chair, etc... I'm not questioning the absorbency nor do I second guess whether or not I will need to make sure I pack a change of clothes. I sleep all night and wake-up dry! At first I said, "Oh! this is a fluke, the next pack want be as good". I was wrong, I switch to this 2-part system and I have not looked back. The only disadvantage I found, so far, is the pull-on pants only come in a 2pk and after a couple of washes they are no good anymore. It kinda like they discenograte. Which is a good thing because I know just about when I need to replace them, and I usually order mines in bulk. This past month, I tried wearing one of the pull-up briefs with the pad. It was extremely bulky and took some getting use to, but in a pinch it works. So, now I have a backup and I found use for all those diapers I had that I could not use, because they were not absorbent enough (I was soiling my clothes trying to use them alone). So, If you are going to use these "Pads", they are a 2-part system. You will need to purchase the panty/brief that goes with it. Yes, it is sold on Amazon also. If you want to see the entire system go on the Tena website. Best choice I've made since becoming incontinent.

Absorbency is very great.

These have no adhesive strips on them which is perfect. I have been looking for pads with no adhesive for years. Most people probably think that is crazy. Let me say that my first impression was that these pads are ridiculously huge. I am in my 60's currently weigh 265 and have a large abdominal flap from weight loss and aging. Because of this pads that adhere to underwear don't work for me as the underwear can't be pulled up snug in the crouch area because the abdominal flap is blocking the way. So over the years it has been challenging to find menstrual pads and now incontinence pads that can be adapted to work on my body's dimensions. The front of the pad I have to fold over like a cuff and place it under my abdominal flap so it sits firmly in the crotch where it needs to be. These pads are super absorbent! Which is awesome for me as I have heavy incontinence. They could use more gathering but work well regardless. I wear these under my underwear which is okay but not ideal. Be patient it is challenging to find a comfortable and effective way to wear these pads in the crotch region because the pads are so wide and have thick padding. I assume they are made this way to keep the super absorbency. Now my search continues for some mesh underpants that fit well and can keep the pads snuggly in place even when they are full. Pads are very heavy when full.

Very absorbent and BIG

They are HUGE but that is what I LOVE about them. I purposely voided in them after drinking about 64 ounces of water, 2 sodas and yes, even a beer. These handled the load. Because I drink a ton a water running up to bedtime I had to be sure. But to be triple sure, I place these inside Depends Fit-Flex as well as sleep on top of a pad at night. Don't want to ruin my new top of the line temper medic mattress. If you do void in them the absorbency is excellent. Usually IF I void at night it will leave yellow marks on the pad, although that might be because my urine is concentrated. Anyway, much of the time when I wake up I don't see any indication that I voided. Probably overkill with all the protective measures and wasting money on something that I could probably get away without, it has passed the tests I purposefully put it. through. Peace of Mind is a wonderful thing. Because I live alone I don't have anyone to help put these on and laying down and trying to get everything in place is much too difficult. What I do is lay in place the large part of the pad on the edge of the bed with the smaller end hanging over the bed. Then, obviously, I pull down the pants or shorts to my knees, sit down on top of the pad and grab the small end of the pad and position the pad in front of the target area. As I remain seated I pull up my pants or shorts as much as I can until I have to stand up to finish pulling up the bottoms. The pad stays in place pretty much doing it this way. I adjust as needed and voila, it's lights out until morning. No worries, mess or fuss. Oh ya, these also don't crump up between the legs too badly unlike the 'guards' do. These pretty remain true to size after use

PERFECT FOR ME!!!

I don't understand the complaints about the size of these at all!! Their large size is what I love about these pads! Some complain about no adhesive strip to hold them in place. There's no need for one! Once you put a pair of underpants over these, they are going to stay in place! I have a problem with incontinence; not just leaks here and there, but full-blown incontinence. That's what these were made for, and they do the job wonderfully!! I wear incontinence briefs (diapers), but they don't always hold a whole lot, so I like to add one of these pads inside the brief or in my underpants. My mobility is very poor, and if I try to get to the bathroom in a hurry, there's a good chance I will fall down. This way, I don't have to worry about my diaper brief filling up and overflowing so quickly. I would have to wear it for over 12 hours before worrying about any leaks. These have really lessened my anxiety about wearing diapers for a very long time or while I'm out and about.
