Underpads are designed to be the last layer of defense against leakage for linens and other furniture.

A good general rule is that if you are using a less absorbent Tabbed Brief or Pull Up, a Disposable Underpad is generally the right choice. Leakage is more common in less absorbent products, so a Disposable Underpad would be less expensive for frequent leakage (and less laundry to do!). If you are using a more absorbent Tabbed Brief or Pull Up (that is less likely to leak), a Cloth Underpad is a good "insurance policy" in the off chance that there is leakage. Almost all Underpads are big enough to provide adequate coverage for a bed or other piece of furniture. In general, we see smaller people select smaller Underpads and larger people opt for larger Underpads.
