Insurance Questions?
IronMed is not able to accept any insurance at this time, but we still want to help you!
Most insurances do NOT cover adult disposable incontinence supplies, but there are a few exceptions. If your insurance does not cover these types of products, let us know and we’ll help you find an affordable option. We’ve listed the most common insurance types and whether they are covered here for your convenience:
- 1.) Medicaid: YES, they are covered in most states. You may be required to get a prescription from your doctor (depending on the state you live in). You can contact your local Medicaid Office to find out more, OR do a search online to find a Home Health or Durable Medical Equipment store near you that accepts this insurance.
- 2.) Medicare (Parts A & B): NO, these types of products are not covered by this type of insurance.
- 3.) Medicare Advantage (Part C): MAYBE, some Medicare Advantage plans do offer extra benefits like Over The Counter (OTC) credits and often these credits can be used to purchase incontinence products. Check with your Provider to find out if your plan offers this.
- 4.) Veterans/VA Healthcare: YES, if you are a veteran enrolled in VA Healthcare and your VA doctor has determined that incontinence products are medically necessary, you will be eligible to get these products free of cost. Usually, the VA will have a pharmacy that ships right to your house.
- 5.) Private Insurance (Employer Provided or Marketplace): NO, we are not aware of any Private Insurance that covers incontinence products, but please check with your insurance company to be sure. If your private insurance offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) option, you may be able to buy these types of products in a tax-free manner right here at IronMed.com
