Prevail Air Permeable Disposable Underpads 23" x 35" - Default Title

Like many, I use for dog weewee pads. I have been using these for years for an 8lb 16 year old Yorkie. The size is large and with 2 she hits the target.Tried amazon brand for dogs last month. Had to use 4 at a time, and so not cost effective. They are also thinner.So back to Prevail.You get 25 in each pack, so it isn't just a giant box of pads. Easier for me to store stacked in closet. I have a 15lb elderly, blind, diabetic Chi who sleeps most of the day and night so I created an area for her lined with these pads. I use the pink washable pads under them as these do sometimes leak, depending on where my Chi decides to go on the pad. Edges seem to be the culprit. But they keep the washable one underneath pretty clean and as a result my wood floor is dry. Using them to train my lab rescue dog as well. I have no idea why pads like this are so expensive; kind of ridiculous when you consider what it likely costs to produce, but these are the most practical I’ve found. Not a perfect solution, if I find something better I’ll update. Do get the washable waterproof pads to use under them.Update: I’ve been using these Prevail pads for my 18 yr old deaf and blind Chihuahua for about a year now and I’m very happy with them. I place the pink washable pads on the floor pink side down and then layer these pads over that, crisscrossing so the edges aren’t exposed. Most of the time I can just lift one or two off the stack and replace with clean ones. I go thru about a case every 2-3 weeks as I’m pretty quick to change the soiled ones so I now have them on auto delivery. She’s pretty content in her little corner and sleeps most of the time but she is diabetic so I have to make sure she has food and water as that helps keep her calm. I bathe her, fluff & change her bedding and keep her warm with a night light so she isn’t completely in the dark. No heroics for this dog; she was given to me by a friend who found her abandoned at the pier in Long Beach in 2005. Since then, she’s been well loved and had a great life. When she’s ready I’m sure she’ll let me know.

I use these for one of my dogs. She is diabetic and sometimes has to urinate during the night. If she's unable to wake me, she will use these pads. They're soft, absorbent, and pretty decent value for the cost.

I realize these are designed for humans, but they are fantastic for pet use as well! I have a very old 70 lb. incontinent male dog who cannot wear a diaper due to mobility issues. I was using washable pads (invacare underpads - great if you are wanting a more eco-friendly option), but it became too time consuming with all the laundry, so I place these over my rugs and then top with two layers of micro-fleece. If you use the appropriate fleece, it will wick moisture directly down into the pads, keeping the dog *mostly* dry. If you have a smaller dog, they could be used without topping, but the backing is slippery and I find they shift too much for my dog if not held in place by something.The pads hold a lot of liquid - although there have been a few occasions where his bladder fully emptied overnight and there was some moisture on the bottom side of the pad because it sat there for too long.. this has been uncommon though and is easily remedied by stacking two pads or placing a washable pad underneath 'just in case'.After a lot of searching, buying these in bulk seems like the best value. My only complaint - I wish they made them in an even larger size!

If using these as wee pads for a dog, I would not use anything smaller than 30x30. The smaller sizes lack absorbency, and wee runs onto the floor faster than it can soak in. I have mid-size dogs, about 30-35 lbs.

Great size and the absorbency is surprising good! No leakage either!

If you have ever bought "pee-pee" pads for puppies or older dogs, you know how insanely expensive they can be -- often over $1.00 per pad. We have a 14 year old Yorkie who is deaf and blind in one eye. In addition she seems to pee every waking hour. Rather than let her roam and pee at will, we put her in one of our old Irish Wolfhound cages to contain her accidents at night. Dogs of course are creatures of habit and don't like to mess up their own nests. Once they learn something it tends to stick with them.So we started caging Ginger at night to limit damage to the house. We knew that if we didn't get it managed correctly our two Irish Wolfhounds would eventually start marking the same areas that she peed on. If that happens we're talking about a REAL problem. We placed one of these Prevail Underpads at the front of her cage, resulting in coverage of about 25% of the cage floor area. The rest of the floor is covered with a small doggie bed, an old bathrobe, and several quilts for bundling. It only took two nights for her to hit the Prevail pad, making morning cleanup so much easier.So if you have puppies or an older dog who can't control his/her body functions, consider buying these pads at only 26 cents each. On a 150 count package, that saves you about $150.00 (or more) every five months. It doesn't matter if it moves around a bit. We anchor one side with a water bowl and fold part of it under a quilt. It catches every drop of liquid and doesn't leak. Works just like it should and takes care of the problem.

I use these as travel changing pads for my toddler and infant. Wonderful value and quality product. Large enough to cover an entire changing table so things stay clean and sanitary. Also, comes in handy postpartum to protect bedding during recovery. Between having children and elderly dogs who use pads, these are the best ones for the best price we've ever come across.

I have pet rats at home in a double unit Critter Nation cage. I used to use fleece to line the shelves and platforms of the cage, but washing them in my washer and dryer put rat hair in my clothes and made me itch all day long to no end and my room stunk like urine and I would get a stuffy nose and wheezing literally the minute after I cleaned the cage and put in new fleece! (I am allergic to my pet rats, but keep them because I love them and they bring my life joy.) We had to use these for my great-grandfather while he was at the end of his life, and when he died, I tried to find another use for these because we had a bunch left over. They were PERFECT for my rat cage! They fit the platforms PERFECTLY. It was like they were made for them. I realize the waste involved with cleaning out the cage 1-2 times per week, but really, I have cut down on plastic waste in other areas of my life so I feel like the convenience of these liners is worth it. My allergies are almost non-existent now that I use these, and cleaning the cage is a snap! I fold over the edges of these sheets and safety pin them so that the rats can't pull them up, so when it is time to clean the cage, I unpin them and throw them in the trash, wipe down the shelves and platforms with disinfectant wipes, and then put new pads on! These have made cleaning a rat cage with my busy life incredibly simple and time-efficient. Definitely recommend!

Yet another homecare item that I rely on Amazon to deliver when I need it. I subscribe to have this product sent every so often so I get an even better price for them. This pad is a good size and is absorbent enough for our needs. I don't think it would do a great job for a real "soaking" but to catch a little wetness or dampness, it's "the bomb". Sometimes these can be a little challenging to unfold because the edges get heat bonded (or something that kind of sticks the edges to other parts of the folded pad) and you have to literally peel them open. It can be difficult while I'm mid-cleanup job so I tend to unfold them before I start so I don't get stuck later. Much better price than in the local retail/grocery store. Happy to have a reliable, cost-effective source.Oh, and I also use these under my cat's litter box and it helps to corral the stray litter granules and the occasional mess!
